Ostrich is one of the most honest proteins available to South African dogs. It’s locally farmed — supporting SA producers. It’s lean and high in protein, with less fat than red meat. It’s hypoallergenic, which matters if your dog reacts to beef or chicken. It’s a novel protein most dogs haven’t been exposed to, so intolerances are rare. And it’s sustainable — ostrich has a smaller environmental footprint than beef.
Treats shouldn’t make up more than 10% of your dog’s daily calories. Within that: use smaller treats (Nuggets, Puppy Bites) for training rewards, mid-size treats (Liver Chips, Wing Bites) as high-value rewards, and chews (Shin Bones, Neck Chews, Ear Chews) as enrichment — give these to your dog when you want them settled, mentally stimulated, or entertained during quieter moments.
