This Cookie Policy explains how MHUKA NUTRITION (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2025/915080/07), trading as “Mhuka” (“we”, “us”, “our”), uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on https://www.mhuka.africa/za (the “Site”), and the choices available to you.

This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains more broadly how we handle personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit it. They let a site recognise your browser, remember your preferences and activity, and, in some cases, help third parties show you relevant advertising. Some of the information a cookie collects, such as your IP address or a device identifier, can be personal information under POPIA. Where that’s the case, we handle it in line with our Privacy Policy.

2. Types of Cookies We Use

Strictly necessary cookies. These are required for the Site and our online store to function, for example keeping items in your cart, remembering your login session, and supporting checkout security. The Site is built on WordPress/WooCommerce, which sets these cookies automatically. Without them, core parts of the Site, like checkout, won’t work properly.

Analytics cookies. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site, such as which pages are viewed and how visitors navigate between them. This helps us improve the Site over time. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Advertising cookies. We use the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel to measure the performance of our social media advertising and to show you relevant Mhuka ads on Facebook and Instagram based on your activity on the Site. You can manage your ad preferences at https://www.facebook.com/about/ads.

Functional cookies. Our live chat widget, provided by HubSpot, uses cookies to recognise you across a chat session and respond to your messages. See HubSpot’s own privacy policy at https://legal.hubspot.com/privacy-policy for how it handles this information.

3. How Long Cookies Last

Some cookies are session cookies, which are deleted automatically when you close your browser. Others are persistent cookies, which remain on your device for a set period (typically ranging from 30 days to 2 years, depending on the cookie) or until you delete them manually.

4. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

The Site does not currently display a cookie consent banner. You can manage or block cookies at any time through your browser settings. Most browsers let you view, delete, or block cookies, either for all sites or for mhuka.africa specifically. Since browser settings differ, check your browser’s help documentation for exact steps. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Site, including checkout, from working properly.

For the analytics and advertising cookies described above, you can also opt out directly through the tool-specific links in Section 2.

Do Not Track. Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal to websites you visit. We do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.

5. Your Rights Under POPIA

As a data subject, you have the right to be informed about, access, correct, and request deletion of personal information collected via cookies, and to object to its processing for direct marketing or advertising purposes. 6. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we add a new analytics or advertising tool to the Site. We’ll update the date at the top of this page when we do. We recommend checking back periodically.
